ASUS X502C went Swimming

Accidentally spilled tap water on my ASUS X502C laptop (Intel Core I3 - 3217U, 1.8GHz; 4GB memory; 500GB HDD, OS WIN8). The keyboards began to make these little meep meep beep beep sounds. To avoid a short-circuit, I immediately power down the machine.
Tipped it upside down to drain out the water and googled for similar experiences.

After half an hour, unscrewed all 11 screws from the bottom and removed the keyboard, then carefully unplugged the little tape cable thing that attaches the keyboard and touch pad to the motherboard.

Tipped open the keyboard (as shown in photo) and full blast blow dry it under a standing fan for a couple of hours. Tried to power up the machine but Windows 8 refused to start up. Gave me the BIOS (blue) screen which refuses to load Windows. Hence powered down and continue to blow dry it.

By next morning, Windows started up normally with a few "hang" here and there, but fully functional.
In the following day, everything was back to normal. 觀音媽保庇!

PS: If it's beer, wine, soda spill, you may have to strip down the motherboard and wash it in pure DISTILLED water or pure alcohol before drying it completely (around 12-24 hours depending on your climate). If the water has reached your powered motherboard and f*cked up the circuits, you may need to buy a new laptop/notebook (unless under warranty).
